Lost prompt, women not lost to history

Does anyone know where is a recent/current prompt-gathering with a history theme? I saw it in a distracted moment recently, and posted a prompt for Anne of Brittany, and now I don't know where to look for it. (Now answered, thanks to
pulchritude; it's historyfest!)
Speaking of whom, it's nearly International Women's Day. :) Is there a woman you'd like to draw to my attention, as being someone I can cheer for on the day? Just a name, or a name and an internet link, if you like, or more, if you like!
The end of the three-sentence ficathon is getting very close - and I'll be losing a day and a half on a worktrip tomorrow and Saturday. I hope I can manage a fill or two more, or a prompt or two more before the end.

The Czech wikipedia page has a lot more info.

Kind of lost to history, actually, which is a pity. Nowadays you'd probably say she was a badass. Wanted to be a singer but an illness stopped her career. A man left her, so she went and became the first Czech female pilot. Had several crashes, survived, escaped from the Caribbean when a manager stole her money, kept flying. During WW1, she kept trying to be accepted as a pilot in the army, with the intention to desert from Austria-Hungary the way many Czechs did; could not because she was a woman. After the war, she was a journalist and a Parliament candidate (it doesn't say if she was elected). She'd make a great biopic if only she were not Czech. Oh, and I thought of that before opening another Czech article, which says the exact same thing.

Date: 2015-03-07 11:56 am (UTC)What a life! With the help of Google translate I read all your links, so I have the rough outline of it, anyway, and - child of a palaeontologist! plunging into opera! sculpture! aviation! the Flying Circus, and the whole Caribbean business, and then politics alongside Karel Capek! There must be some record, somewhere of her contribution there.
What of the years after, I wonder? The build-up of Nazism so close, and then the occupation? You'd need those for the biopic. ("if only she were not Czech" is an unhappily convincing caveat, alas! :( Though there's been a made-for-television documentary, hasn't there? I think I read that in one of those articles.)
Thanks for telling me about her. :)

There's the funny excerpt from her diary, when she went to Germany to learn flying, all excited, and her mother accompanying her "resolved to her fate". That's a scene that just begs to be filmed!
And look, this is the type of plane she was learning to fly in:

Imagine doing all the aerobatics in that!
