Narnian headcanon week, 5

Oh my... a long day's work, and so I'll just post a very unassuming piece of head-canon.  :)  

Fifth in the series:

"There were many chinks or chasms between worlds in old times, but they have grown rarer. This was one of the last; I do not say the last." - from Prince Caspian.   These chinks between worlds let into Narnia creatures both Human and non-Human, from this world and from other worlds.  Very early, some two or three generations on from Frank and Helen, other Humans came from this world to Calormen, and later to the Islands, but later still, at different times from other worlds, came the Dwarf ancestors (stated by Coriakin to be different from "the sort you have in Narnia") of the Dufflepuds, and  the psychivorous consciousness which manifested as the Dark Island.

My headcanon is that Amelia Earhart ended up in Narnia, and is the mother of Ramandu's Daughter. :D

I am completely with you on the Calormenes and the islanders, though I personally blame the Dufflepuds and the Dark Island on Jadis. :-)

(laughing) You take a very dim view of the Dufflepuds!

It's more that I think Jadis was responsible for shaping a bunch of the world -- the parts Aslan left unfinished in his great song -- and the eastern islands are a significant part of that. So she woke dragons on Dragon Island, she laid the curse of gold on Deathwater Island, she is responsible for whatever calamity destroyed the population of the island where they found Reepicheep's corracle, and so on and so forth. The Dufflepuds just happened to misfire in terms of general deadliness, and are more of an annoyance than a danger... or at least that is true since Coriakin has been there to keep an eye on them. *ominous music plays*

I'm not sure whether to laugh at the idea of how cross she must have been to have created a humble nuisance-level badness, or to be apprehensive, on hearing the ominous music!
