Bang goes another weekend.

and it's Saturday, and I'm on another work-trip - which is good in itself, but...

the powercord which keeps this laptop ticking over started emitting blue-green sparks!  (this was on Wednesday, I think) and possibly fizzing noises, but I may have imagined those.  :)  Some tape from the hotel helped with running repairs,and got me through till last night, when - tape and all - it stopped working completely, and the battery got lower and lower and....

and then nifty work by a colleague armed with needle-pointed tweezers brought it back to life!  \o/  

But this morning, and possibly all day, is definitely going to be spent combing a strange city for a replacement cord.  It could be hours.

In other gloomy news, my NFE story is…. well, it's gloomy news.  That covers it.  :(
