Oh, I love stories like this one, with hints of the maybe reality behind "the local legend of a lost kingdom, Cantre'r Gwaelod, drowned beneath the waves". Note that it's not just the old forest which has emerged, thanks to recent storms, but old walkways, and "ancient hearths". Wonderful! In Australia, the old, old land has been so stable for so long that things like this sound almost magical - though old shipwrecks do emerge, and signs of old trade-routes from Asia, time out of mind.
And speaking of time out of mind, I might as well put this, too, about really ancient footprints - it reminded me of a book by brilliant Peter Dickinson, which I think was A Bone From a Dry Sea. My, but that man can write!
