The elves that have traveled beyond Rivendell & Lothlorien always seemed to be a bit silly, though I wonder if perhaps it's all a public facade. Who really knows what they speak about in their own tongue? Where would the elves of Mirkwood fit in?

Tom and Goldberry were always such interesting characters; I wish we knew a little more about them.

I just finished How to Be a Victorian: A Dawn-to-Dusk Guide to Victorian Life, written by one of the presenters/historians of "Victorian Farm". Though I don't think there was much about the usage of Latin in it (or in everyday life, I suppose), it does seem to bust a few myths about that era.
