It's horribly violent! Close scrutiny reveals six decapitations and another one on the way. (I think it's wishful thinking, though - I doubt any battle was quite so one-sided.)

Quite a few of the pictures aren't religious figures. Quite a few are, of course, but there's also botanical/medicinal illustrations, and astronomical/astrological illustrations, and love-stories as well. :)
