I think there's a lot of value in the emphasis on the gold, light-scattering aspect of a light mane, but the dark mane (which does conceal lighter colour underneath) has a wonderful feel to it, too. :)

I'm glad you've been over on NFFR reading the latest! I'm enjoying it,too, and I've been finding several things I hadn't paid close attention to before! :)
