From Spain, from the UK
Two things that are so amazing that they have to be shared!
One is this amazing rock-climbing photo from Spain.
I might be a bit hyper-aware of rock-climbing photos right now, because I just wrote a climb up the cliff to Telmar and spent a while on various rock-climby websites, making sure I had believable ways to climb a fissure for part of it. But still... even for those not currently in a rock-climbing frame of mind it's worth gasping at.
The other is the finding of eight wonderfully-made prehistoric boats in a quarry in the UK.
I love the ridges in the floor of the boat -- and the article speaks of carved handles to lift the boat by, and of traces of fire on the floor, which speaks so much of night-travel or winter travel or both.
